ProStart (Advanced Placement Credits)
Students who compete in the ProStart program with a C average or above and a certificate of completion may receive advance placement credit at any of over 30 locations of The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes. Advance Placement rewards student for their skills, saving them time and money. Students may receive academic credit up to 12 credits (valued at over $5,000) for any combination of the following programs:
- Safety and Sanitation with ServSafe Food Safety certificate
- Elective; Externship, Management, Supervision, and Career Development; Culinary Nutrition*
- Work Experience Credit Reviewed by local school’s Chef Director and Dean of Academic Affairs on a case-by-case basis.
Some restrictions apply for approval of Culinary Nutrition credits. See local details. Additional credits may be articulated to ProStart students on a case-by-case basis upon review of the local school’s Chef Director and Dean of Academic Affairs.
