John A. Johns Memorial Scholarship

Who is Eligible: Students currently enrolled at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh

Terms/Conditions: To enter, the student must complete an entry form, submit a typewritten essay describing professional aspirations and why the scholarship would help to achieve his/her goals, submit a portfolio, including five (5) samples of caricature or illustration for evaluation by a designated faculty member or an academic department director (the entrant's name must appear on all prints or slides), submit a resume stating community involvement, and a current academic transcript.  All components of student’s entry must be contained in one package and mailed or hand delivered by the deadline to: John A. Johns Scholarship Committee, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, 420 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.  

Range of Award: One $5,000 tuition scholarship, or two $2,500 tuition scholarships are offered by the estate of John A. Johns and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh (via the EDMC Education Foundation) to qualified applicants who (i) have an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher; (ii) demonstrate an interest and proficiency in caricature and/or illustration; and (iii) demonstrate commitment to the community or meaningful project involvement.
